Minutes of 9/6/01 Knox Greens Meeting

Additions to Agenda: Discussion of Platform, WRFR, Hinkley’s Maine Corporate Charter Revision

I. Disucussions

We decided by consensus to second a MGIP resolution backing GPUS status/filing, and notify GPUS, GPUSA and FEC of that (MR will get wording of MGIP resolution.)

Discussed next Blue Goose Show (Babaloo on 9/15)

Communication Committee formed that will decided content of website, newsletter and other KG announcements, and get those words out.

II. Announcements

There is a NIKE rally in Portland 9-17. Anyone wanting to go down from here get in touch w/ Tim.

There’s a rally sending off Russ deForest in Portland 9-9.

There’s a Legislative teach-in at Common Ground Fair in Unity the 22nd.

III. New Items

 

A. Platform

1.        Group decided by consensus that anyone who wants a position stated by the KG’s to bring the proposal to the next monthly meeting for discussion and decision by group. They must first “go through channels” and get it on the agenda beforehand via the KG Steering Committee. Everyone understood that the burden of approval rests on the person(s) presenting the proposal.

2.        Group decided by consensus to form a Platform Committee that will identify “generic” issues peculiar to the Pen Bay region, and to submit that Platform for the Group’s consideration for adoption and publication. Members: Tim, Mike, Cindy, Yael.

B. WRFR

Lynne updated on the station’s progress, status, and possibilities for KG involvement.

C. Robert Hinkley Corporate Charter Amendment

Mary and Herb asked that they be on agenda to present proposals for group decisions (per “III A 1” above.)
