MINUTES OF THE KNOX GREENS GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

Meeting called to order by Michael Ray

Facilitated by Todd Schmidgall

Bylaws:

*Cindy stated strong disagreement with using the state's wording

of the 10 Key Values, preferring instead those of the National

Platform. After discussion it was agreed to leave out the wording

of the 10 Key Values in the bylaws

*It was agreed to delete the provision that the Scribe be a

non-voting member

*It was agreed that the requirement that one be a member for 3

months before being allowed to vote was deleted, with the

provision that it may be studied and included later as the group

grows.

New Business:

*Cindy passed around info about a Livable Wage Rally in Augusta

on May 4 and offered to write a letter on behalf of the Knox

Greens in support of the rally. It was agreed that she would

write it and get it approved at the next meeting, after sending

the Maine Rural Workers Coalition a draft letter pending approval

of the final.

*Cindy also offered to do posters of the Economic Bill of Rights

to be distributed locally in support of the rally, and to send

out a press release

*Mark Elwin reminded everyone of the Stream dance at the Blue

Goose on March 31, with a potluck beginning at 6:30. Felix Brown

will perform on April 21. He suggested that we pay for an ad in

the Free Press to promote this band which has had no exposure in

our area.

*Will Neils presented background info on the Free Trade Area of

the Americas, with info about actions we can take either in

Quebec City or Jackman, Maine.

*We agreed to sign the Maine Global Action Network's letter of

support regarding the opposition of the FTAA. Mike agreed to send

it to MeGAN.

*Mike said he was going to speak in favor of the Instant Runoff

Voting proposal LD 1740 in Augusta on April 2.
